International Hardy Plant Union renamed to International Perennial Society

The International Hardy Plant Union is professionalising itself and its image. After years of discussion, the board, which has been newly formed since August, has commissioned a logo and corresponding templates for its media and presented them for the first time at the ISU-Winter Days in Grünberg in mid-February. Maciej Strzelczyk, Poland, successfully presented his design and convinced not only the board but also the more than 100 members present. The logo shows a happy, connected community holding hands, as well as a stylised, open flower. The ISU President, Jana Holzbecherová, Czech Republic, also announced the decision of the ISU board to change the English name from ‘International Hardy Plant Union’ to ‘International Perennial Society’ and received great approval for this as well. The abbreviation is to remain ‘ISU’ in all languages, since the abbreviation based on the German-language term has become internationally established.
All media will now be changed over. Registrations for the various ISU events, such as the botanical excursion and the Summer, Winter and Future Days, will be introduced as online registrations in the new design.
